Yamaha AES Series Electric Guitars

Probably the best known of all the Yamaha Electric Guitars, at the time of this writing at least, is the AES620SH. The “SH” suffix standing for Sammy Hagar, the ex vocalist for Van Halen and Chickenfoot.

This particular model was the brainchild of Hagar himself and is based on a standard AES620 and built to his specification by the guys at Yamaha’s custom shop in California.

This solid-bodied guitar uses Yamaha's standard neck with a rosewood fingerboard and two Humbucker pickups.

For guitarist wanting just a little more edge, the AES420 was designed to incorporate more aggressive features: directly mounted pickups, wrap-around tail pieces and black hardware. It’s the most inexpensive set-neck solid-bodied electric guitar available.
