Yamaha RGX Series Electric Guitars

The Yamaha RGX series of guitars have, like so many others, Fender Stratocaster inspired looks. However, the body of the instrument is manufactured by sandwiching a section of lightweight timber between two pieces of hardwood. This center section has tubes running through it, which allow vibrations to flow from the top of the guitar through to the back. This allows the whole body to resonate thus giving improved sustain and tone whilst making the instrument much lighter than many others in its class.

The bolt-on neck of the RGX series electric guitars has a minimum of twenty-two frets, sometimes more. However, on the more expensive models, neck-through construction is employed for improved durability.

The outer panels of the body are either manufactured from Ash or Alder, the neck is usually constructed from Maple, the pick-ups are Alnico Humbuckers and the there are a variety of colors to choose from.

In addition to the six-string guitars, Yamaha also produce a series of RGX basses. The options for these are fretted, fret-less and there are four and five string models available. All of the above are available for both right and left-handed players.
